What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Human Resources Specialist to provide hands-on HR support within a federal government contracting environment. This role focuses on day-to-day HR operations, onboarding, recruiting support, employee record maintenance, benefits administration, and HR system updates.
- Assist with daily HR activities and provide professional, responsive administrative support to employees, managers, and the HR team.
- Support end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes, including new-hire paperwork, I-9 checks, personnel changes, and maintaining confidential personnel files.
- Enter and update employee data in HRIS and workforce systems; assist with reports, timesheet follow-up, and other HR documentation.
- Support recruiting tasks: create and post job ads, screen applications, schedule interviews, and communicate status updates to candidates.
- Assist with benefits administration, annual open enrollment tasks, leave documentation, and employee communications regarding benefits and training.
- Support compliance activities, performance management workflows, HR policy documentation, and special HR projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- 2–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within federal government contracting, professional services, or another regulated environment.
- Working knowledge of employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, recruiting, and HR compliance requirements.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and HR systems (experience with ADP Workforce Now, Unanet, JazzHR, or comparable HRIS/ATS platforms is preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and strong interpersonal/customer service orientation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently, maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and escalate sensitive matters appropriately.
- Must be a U.S. citizen to perform this role.

- Citizenship: U.S. citizenship is required due to the role's federal contracting environment.
- HUBZone: Confidential Client is a HUBZone-certified small business; applicable hires may be asked to provide proof of residency and maintain HUBZone eligibility as required.
Working Environment & Location
- Work location: Onsite in North Englewood, MD.
- This is an onsite, full-time position supporting a federal contracting workforce. Expect typical office hours with occasional variability to meet business needs.
Compensation
- Anticipated salary range: $65,000 to $72,800 annually ($31.25 to $35.00 per hour).
- Pay will be disclosed consistent with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
