Position Overview

This Human Resources Coordinator role supports a Confidential Client in the manufacturing industry based in Cascade, MI. You will join a collaborative HR team and provide day-to-day administrative and operational support across HRIS, onboarding, benefits administration, employee engagement, contingent workforce coordination, and compliance-related processes.


What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a resource for employees by answering HR-related questions or directing employees to the appropriate resources.
  • Support the onboarding process: coordinate new-hire paperwork, schedule orientation, and assist with orientation sessions.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential personnel files and HR records.
  • Enter and maintain employee and training data within the HRIS and run HR reports to provide actionable insights.
  • Support administration of health and welfare benefits: process enrollments, changes, terminations, and help reconcile benefit statements.
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities and events (appreciation events, holiday activities, company lunches) and manage related budgets.
  • Coordinate the contingent workforce and staffing-agency relationships, including timecard submission, invoice approval, and workforce metrics tracking.
  • Support and manage student intern and summer employment programs: posting, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and program development.
  • Manage the site’s FMLA process with an outside vendor and coordinate communications between employees and managers.
  • Coordinate employee service award programs, surveys, workers’ compensation claims, and OSHA log documentation in partnership with the safety team.
  • Provide additional HR and administrative support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • Approximately 1 year of HR experience (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply).
  • Working knowledge of HR practices, office procedures, and general HR administration.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and genuine interest in supporting employees.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills; able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, resilient, and eager to learn and improve HR processes.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees, managers, HR colleagues, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $28–$35 per hour.
  • This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits (details provided by the Confidential Client).
