What You’ll Do

The Human Resources Assistant provides day-to-day administrative support to the HR team and serves as a professional point of contact for employees, applicants, and managers. This is an entry-level, hands-on HR role focused on accurate record-keeping, onboarding/offboarding, recruitment support, compliance tracking, and routine HR processes.

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department (paperwork processing, correspondence, routine inquiries)
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper employee records, personnel files, and employment documentation
  • Perform high-volume data entry and maintain HRIS records, trackers, and reports
  • Assist with employee file audits and monitor licenses, certifications, training, and other compliance items
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes (pre-employment checks, I-9/eligibility verification, new hire materials, orientation scheduling, separation documentation, system updates)
  • Support recruitment administration: post jobs, manage applicant communications, schedule interviews, prepare offer paperwork, and assist at recruitment events
  • Respond to routine employee and manager questions and route complex issues to appropriate HR staff
  • Complete employment verifications and assist with unemployment-related paperwork per established procedures
  • Support benefits, leave, payroll, and basic employee-relations administration under HR direction
  • Help prepare HR reports, support department communications, recognition activities, and special projects as assigned
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and organizational information
  • Collaborate with Payroll and other departments to resolve routine data or system discrepancies
  • Follow Confidential Client’s procedures, policies, and required training; represent the client’s service-oriented culture

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field preferred
  • Prior administrative, customer service, office, or HR internship experience preferred but not required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required; familiarity with HRIS, ATS, payroll or learning systems preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive data
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, follow processes, meet deadlines, and escalate appropriately
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Customer-service mindset and willingness to learn new systems and HR processes
  • Awareness and sensitivity to addiction, socioeconomic differences, and cultural considerations

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour (actual pay depends on experience, credentials, and other job-related factors)
