What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Project HSE Manager to own and drive safety and environmental programs on one or more construction projects in Vail, AZ. This is a hands-on, field-facing role focused on preventing incidents, managing compliance, and supporting craft and supervision to work safely.
- Conduct frequent site safety walks and inspections; identify hazards and follow through on corrective actions
- Lead site-specific safety orientations and toolbox talks
- Create, update, maintain, and implement the Project Environmental Management Plan and Project Safety Management Plan
- Facilitate the company Safety Management and Illness Prevention Systems Manual at the project level
- Manage emergencies, incident investigations, and workers’ compensation case coordination
- Maintain project safety documentation and reporting, and track safety metrics and observations
- Coach supervisors and craft on safe work practices; escalate issues appropriately
What We’re Looking For
Minimum qualifications and skills that make candidates successful in this role:
- At least 1 year of full-time project safety experience (Step I is entry level; Step II and Sr. levels require more experience and independence)
- High school diploma minimum; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (clear, accurate reporting)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and common mobile safety apps/software
- High integrity in incident reporting and adherence to company policies
- Bilingual candidates preferred; MSHA BlueCard (MSHA Trainer) is a plus
- Certifications preferred but not required: STSC, CHST, ASP, CSP
Physical & Work Environment
This is a safety-sensitive, field-based construction role. Typical physical demands and equipment requirements:
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (steel-toed shoes, hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, high-visibility vest, etc.)
- May stoop, kneel, bend, climb ladders/stairs, reach above shoulder heights, and lift or carry items occasionally
- Frequent interaction with field personnel and project teams; periods of sitting, standing, or walking during a shift
- Must comply with all site safety standards and procedures
