Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Project HSE Manager (Step I / II / Sr. levels) to join a heavy-industrial project team in Iva, SC. This safety-focused role supports project delivery by implementing and facilitating HS&E programs, conducting inspections and orientations, and managing incident response and documentation.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct frequent site safety walks and inspections across the project and adjacent property.
• Lead site-specific safety orientations and toolbox talks.
• Create, update, maintain, and facilitate the Project Environmental Management Plan.
• Create, update, maintain, and facilitate the Project Safety Management Plan.
• Implement and enforce the Confidential Client Safety Management and Illness Prevention Systems Manual on site.
• Manage emergencies, incidents, and worker’s compensation claims; support investigations and corrective actions.
• Review, organize, and file project safety documentation and reports.
• Collaborate with project leadership and trades to drive continuous safety improvements and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum: high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of full-time project safety experience (Step I typically entry-level; Step II manages small-to-medium projects independently; Sr. manages larger/complex projects).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and comfortable using safety software/apps.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to accurate reporting and documentation.
• Demonstrated integrity in reporting incidents, complying with policies, and upholding safety standards.
• Certifications preferred but not required: STSC, CHST, ASP, CSP.
• Bilingual candidates are a plus.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
• Frequent reaching above shoulder height and below waist; occasional stooping, kneeling, bending.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders occasionally.
• Frequent interaction with people across shifts; ability to sit, stand, or walk short distances for extended periods.
• Must be able to use phones, computers, email and other electronic devices to communicate with internal/external contacts.
