What You’ll Do

The HR Systems Data Analyst will design, configure, integrate, and maintain HR systems and databases to ensure accurate HR, benefits, and talent data across the HR ecosystem. You will partner with HR, Benefits, Talent Operations, and Technology teams to deliver automated data solutions, reliable integrations, advanced reporting, and operational improvements.

  • Configure and maintain HR-related databases for HRIS, benefits, payroll, and talent management platforms.
  • Design, build, and maintain system integrations (APIs, middleware, scheduled feeds) to keep employee and benefits data flowing accurately and securely.
  • Troubleshoot data issues, resolve integration failures, and implement preventive controls to protect data integrity.
  • Build advanced queries, reports, and dashboards (SQL, Power BI/Tableau) to support HR reporting and decision making.
  • Administer and support talent-suite modules (viDesktop or comparable systems): backend configuration, business rules, form design, and system health monitoring.
  • Coordinate regular data feeds, exports, and scheduled jobs with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Implement testing plans, validate data loads (e.g., HCM Data Loader), and support BI Publisher/Oracle HCM reporting where applicable.
  • Automate manual processes with scripting and workflows to improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain documentation for database design, integrations, and configuration; train HR end-users on reports and tools.
  • Monitor vendor product roadmaps (e.g., viDesktop) and assess impacts to firm-specific configurations; manage upgrades and patching in partnership with vendors.

Who You Are (Qualifications & Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience working with HRIS and HR-related systems, integrations, database programming, and reporting — preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Proven expertise with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and advanced SQL (complex queries, stored procedures).
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms and integrations (Oracle HCM, Workday, or similar), including middleware/iPaaS tools (Workato, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, etc.).
  • Experience designing and supporting APIs, scheduled feeds, and automated data loads (HCM Data Loader, BIP).
  • Experience with reporting and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and building dashboards for HR stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with LMS/SCORM concepts and technical administration of talent management modules (viDesktop experience a plus).
  • Strong programming/scripting skills (Python, SQL scripts) to automate processes and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating across HR and IT teams.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Prior experience in a law practice or large professional services organization.
  • Direct experience administering viDesktop modules (viRecruit, viLMS, viEval) or comparable talent-suite configurations.
  • Experience with Oracle HCM reporting, BI Publisher (BIP), and HCM Data Loader (HDL).

Working Conditions & Location

  • Typical office or hybrid environment; occasional remote work may be supported, but candidates must be within commuting distance of a Confidential Client office in Houston, TX.
  • Position may require periodic long hours and coordination across multiple teams and vendors.
