HR Generalist
The HR Generalist at Confidential Client provides frontline human resources support within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, partnering with employees and leadership to manage employee relations, staffing, compliance, and workforce administration. This entry-level role focuses on fostering a positive work environment, supporting multi-shift operations, and ensuring adherence to HR policies and employment laws while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide front-line HR support for manufacturing operations, acting as a visible HR resource for hourly and salaried employees.
- Advise employees and supervisors on policies, procedures, benefits, payroll-related questions, and workplace concerns.
- Conduct initial fact-finding on routine employee relations issues; escalate complex or sensitive matters to HR leadership.
- Support investigations related to attendance, conduct, policy compliance, workplace concerns, and employee complaints.
- Partner with supervisors on performance management, corrective action documentation, and consistent application of expectations.
- Promote employee engagement through recognition, communications, plant events, and morale initiatives.
- Support workforce administration tasks: transfers, promotions, shift and job changes, status updates, and shift assignments.
- Track attendance, identify trends, and assist with follow-up documentation and absence administration.
- Coordinate return-to-work activities, accommodation follow-up, and modified duty logistics in partnership with HR and safety stakeholders.
- Support recruiting activities: job postings, interview scheduling, candidate communications, selection documentation, and pre-employment processes.
- Represent HR at job fairs, community outreach, school partnerships, and recruiting events as needed.
- Participate in HR projects, process improvements, standard work development, and implementation of site-level HR programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Industrial Relations, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in Human Resources, employee support, recruiting, HR administration, customer service, or manufacturing support.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn HR systems and reporting tools.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information.
- Willingness and ability to work a second-shift schedule and provide visible HR coverage across multiple shifts.
Preferred
- HR internship, co-op, or early-career manufacturing HR experience.
- Experience supporting hourly employees or multi-shift operations.
- Exposure to employee relations, recruiting, attendance administration, leave coordination, or HR compliance.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification, or interest in pursuing HR certification.

- Basic employment law and HR policy knowledge, applied with guidance from HR leadership.

Working Conditions & Schedule
- Regular presence on the manufacturing floor and in employee-facing areas is expected.
- Flexible hours required to support employees across multiple shifts; this role includes a regular after-hours support schedule.
- Occasional travel between manufacturing locations, recruiting events, and training or company meetings may be required.
- Comfortable interacting with employees at all organizational levels in a production-focused environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range (full-time): $63,000.00 - $86,625.00. Starting pay is dependent on geographic location, experience, education, and other job-related factors.
