HR Generalist (Entry Level)
The entry-level HR Generalist supports HR functions across multiple multifamily communities, focusing on payroll processing, onboarding new employees, and employee relations. What You’ll Do
This is an entry-level, on-site HR Generalist role supporting the HR function across a portfolio of ~25 multifamily communities (approximately 100 employees). You will work closely with corporate HR, site teams, and regional leadership to deliver payroll, onboarding, employee-relations, and general HR support.
- Payroll support: assist with processing bi-weekly / semi-monthly payroll, verify hours and PTO, help resolve payroll discrepancies, and maintain accurate payroll records in compliance with policy and law.
- Onboarding: coordinate new-hire paperwork and background checks, set up employees in HR/payroll systems, manage orientation logistics, and serve as a point of contact for new hires.
- Employee relations: act as an approachable first point of contact for policy/benefits questions, document and escalate issues to HR Manager/Director, and support consistent policy application.
- General HR support: maintain accurate employee data in HR systems, assist with HR reporting and audits, and support HR projects and process improvements.
- Provide timely, professional communication to employees and property teams and escalate complex issues appropriately.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
- 0–2 years of HR, payroll, or administrative experience (internships welcome)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive/confidential information
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills; ability to support multiple locations
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable learning HRIS and payroll systems (training provided)
- A proactive, friendly, customer-service mindset — you enjoy helping people and solving problems
- Ability to work independently and escalate issues when needed

Location & Worksite
This is an on-site position based at the regional/corporate office in Fort Sam Houston, TX. Candidates must be able to work on-site as required.
