Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an HR Coordinator to support day-to-day HR operations for a multi-state employee population. This full-time role handles onboarding, HRIS data entry, personnel file maintenance, basic payroll support, compliance tasks (I-9, FMLA, ADA, EEOC), and employee engagement activities. The role is based in Schaumburg, IL with a flexible home base and potential partial remote work after training. Compensation: $21–$23 per hour.
What You’ll Do
- Schedule and manage onboarding and orientation (including remote pre/post orientations and I-9 verification).
- Support background screening and compliance checks during hiring.
- Enter and maintain new hire and status-change data across HRIS and related systems.
- Maintain and audit personnel files, upload required documentation, and ensure record accuracy.
- Support online compliance and training platforms (HIPAA, Bloodborne Pathogen, Mandated Reporter, Sexual Harassment).
- Assist with benefits administration logistics and onboarding-related communications.
- Help with basic payroll initiatives and data entry as needed.
- Support employee engagement activities (meet & greets, stay interviews, anniversary recognition).
- Perform administrative and clerical duties for the HR department and contribute to special projects.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Human Resource Management strongly preferred.
- 12+ months experience in an HR coordinator or specialist role preferred (9–24 months entry-level HR experience is a strong plus).
- Experience with onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes.
- Working knowledge of I-9/USCIS work authorization, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and basic workers’ compensation rules.
- Able to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational, time-management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with data entry and HRIS systems.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between locations as required.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Payroll experience is a strong plus.
