HR Administrator
The HR Administrator at Confidential Client provides essential administrative support across recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and employee record management within an industrial business setting. What You’ll Do
This role provides hands-on HR administrative support across recruiting, onboarding, payroll inputs and employee records for a busy operational team. Typical responsibilities include:
- Prepare job postings, screen applications and schedule interviews
- Coordinate new-hire onboarding, including paperwork, I-9 & E-Verify, background checks and system setup
- Create and maintain accurate employee files and HRIS records
- Track attendance, PTO and timesheets; prepare and send payroll inputs
- Assist with benefits enrollment and answer routine employee questions
- Draft employment letters, contracts and policy updates
- Support compliance with Texas and federal employment laws (EEOC, FMLA, FLSA; OSHA record-keeping)
- Coordinate drug screening, DOT medicals and training record maintenance when required
- Manage the HR inbox and phone enquiries professionally and confidentially
- Assist with basic HR reporting (headcount, turnover) and employee communications
- Support employee events and internal HR communications
Qualifications
We encourage applications from entry-level candidates and those with some HR or administrative experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or related field preferred
- 1+ year administrative or HR support experience preferred (entry-level candidates welcome)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Nice to Have
- Experience with an HRIS or payroll system (ADP, Paycom, UKG, BambooHR or similar)
- Basic knowledge of Texas and U.S. employment law
- Progress toward HR certification (aPHR, SHRM-CP, etc.)
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Experience in manufacturing, equipment, construction or transport industries
