Position overview

Confidential Client is hiring an Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Consultant to join a Houston, TX delivery team. This role supports internal audit, business-process advisory, and technology audit engagements across clients in multiple industries. You will analyze risks and controls, apply data analytics and AI-enabled tools, and communicate findings that help clients improve governance, risk management, and operational effectiveness.


What You’ll Do

  • Work on client engagements to assess risks, test controls, and document observations for internal audit and advisory projects.
  • Use AI-enabled analysis, data interrogation, and audit methodology to support evidence-based conclusions.
  • Assist in planning, fieldwork, data analysis, and reporting for Business Process Audit & Advisory and Technology Audit & Advisory engagements.
  • Leverage data tools (Power BI, Excel, Alteryx, Python, MS Power Platform) to analyze data sets and create visualizations.
  • Support client communications and present insights to project teams and client stakeholders.
  • Contribute to project delivery by managing time, prioritizing tasks, and taking ownership of assignments.
  • Collaborate with team members, participate in training/onboarding programs, and engage in professional development activities.

Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Demonstrated proficiency applying AI tools to analytical and research tasks (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, GenAI).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities; ability to synthesize and interpret data.
  • Technical proficiency aligned to the assigned capability area (business process audit or technology audit).
  • Familiarity or interest in Power BI, Excel, Alteryx, MS Power Platform, Python, and modern data/visualization tools.
  • Entry-level software development awareness and best practices is a plus.
  • Desire to pursue professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA) is encouraged.

Work Model & Location

  • This role follows a hybrid model that combines in-person client and office work with remote work based on project needs. Local travel and occasional out-of-area travel may be required by client engagements.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range (reported): $72,000 — $89,000 per year (placement dependent on experience, skills, and geographic work location).
  • Bonus target: $2,000 (illustrative; actual eligibility and amounts depend on role and performance).
  • Total cash range estimate: $72,000 — $89,000.
  • Benefits (may include): medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, life and accident insurance, adoption and fertility assistance, paid parental leave (up to 10 weeks), short/long-term disability, 401(k) with employer match, Choice Time Off (CTO) and paid holidays. Benefit eligibility varies by employment type and location.
