What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Housing Support Specialist II (Clinical Housing) to provide hands-on, relationship-based support for people living with severe and persistent mental illness. This onsite role in Bremerton, WA (includes community outreach) focuses on helping clients maintain stable housing and build the day-to-day skills needed for independence.

  • Work directly with clients in agency housing, people seeking placement, and clients housed in the community.
  • Implement agency treatment philosophy, program goals, and therapeutic housing standards.
  • Build trusting relationships and a supportive environment that encourages independence.
  • Conduct FCS assessments and recertifications; develop person-centered goals with clients.
  • Provide education, coaching, skill-building (cooking, cleaning, money management, social skills) and advocacy.
  • Learn and apply the Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) fidelity model.
  • Support individualized routines and structure (scheduling, group shopping, 1:1 supports).
  • Coordinate with Crisis Response, housing, and clinical teams; report observations and risks promptly.
  • Identify behaviors that may jeopardize housing and intervene early; assist in transitional planning toward greater independence.
  • Respond appropriately to missing, ill, injured, or psychiatrically unstable clients and document incidents per policy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social services, behavioral health, or related field; OR high school diploma/GED plus four years of property management/housing experience.
  • Entry-level acceptable with a BA (no prior related work experience required) or 4 years relevant experience with GED.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, establish effective working relationships, and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Basic computer proficiency (email, documentation, standard office equipment).
  • Required: must be at least 21 years old, possess and maintain a valid Washington driver’s license, have reliable insured transportation, and meet agency motor vehicle history and driving requirements to transport clients when needed.
  • Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration (or able to obtain, per agency policy).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in co-occurring disorders, individual/group therapy, vocational services, or substance use treatment.
  • Familiarity with housing-first or supportive housing approaches and recovery-oriented practice.

  • Hiring range: $25.19 - $30.86 per hour.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Work settings include office, onsite housing, and community outreach. While performing essential duties, employees must be able to:

  • Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ascend/descend stairs and navigate indoor/outdoor environments.
  • Lift/carry/push/pull: up to 10 lbs (frequently), up to 20 lbs (occasionally), up to 50 lbs (seldom).
  • Safely participate in crisis intervention and use approved de-escalation techniques according to training; perform rapid repositioning or short-distance movement as needed.
  • Demonstrate mobility and balance tasks (crouch, kneel, get up from floor, twist, pivot).
  • Have sufficient vision and hearing to read materials, monitor clients, and detect environmental/behavioral cues.
