Role Overview
Confidential Client is hiring Hourly Research Assistants to support clinical research in women’s and newborn health. This hourly position works with study coordinators and clinical teams to support participant screening, recruitment, data collection, biospecimen handling, and regulatory documentation. Location: Utah (UT). Estimated pay (per Ad listing): $43,162 per year (estimated).
Responsibilities
- Learn and follow study protocols; evaluate clarity and subject safety
- Screen clinic schedules and medical records for potential participants
- Perform eligibility screening and recruit/consent participants in clinical settings
- Explain protocols and inclusion/exclusion criteria to patients, clinicians, and staff
- Collect, enter, and maintain study data from participants, charts, and EMRs
- Maintain source documents, logs, and progress reports in accordance with FDA, HIPAA, and GCP standards
- Collect and process biospecimens and clinical measurements (phlebotomy training provided as needed)
- Report and track adverse events; document protocol deviations and assist with study close-out reporting
- Attend study and team meetings; help maintain supplies and study materials
- Other duties as assigned in support of study operations
Minimum Qualifications
- Entry through experienced levels will be considered — department may hire at Research Assistant I, II, or III depending on background and business need
- Research Assistant I: little to no related experience (entry-level)
- Research Assistant II: at least 1 year related experience
- Research Assistant III: 3+ years related experience
- Equivalency statement: 1 year of higher education may be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (e.g., bachelor’s degree = 4 years related experience)
- Ability to work with confidential health information and complete required trainings (HIPAA, site-specific training, etc.)
Preferred Skills & Competencies
- Experience with participant recruitment and informed consent in clinical settings
- Strong attention to detail for data entry and source documentation (EMR experience preferred)
- Comfortable collecting and processing biospecimens; willingness to train in phlebotomy
- Good communication skills and ability to explain study procedures clearly
- Reliable, team-oriented, flexible, and professional in clinical environments
- Familiarity with FDA/GCP processes and clinical research documentation is a plus
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily office/clinical setting work (may include clinic floors and research labs)
- Frequent sitting, hearing, speaking and repetitive hand motion (typing)
- Regular walking; occasional bending or reaching overhead
- May require shift coverage outside standard daytime operations depending on study needs
Compensation & Levels
- Estimated pay (from source): $43,162 per year — department may hire at different job levels (I, II, III) and pay rates based on needs and budget
