What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry level Highway Engineer to support transportation planning and design work in Baltimore, MD. This role assists senior engineers on highway, pedestrian, bicycle, and transit improvement projects by contributing to alignments, construction documents, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Support development of geometric alignments and roadway layouts
- Prepare construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Assist in development of technical reports and permit documentation
- Coordinate with multi disciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Use design and drafting tools to produce plan sets and deliverables
- Participate in reviews, QA/QC, and project meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Relevant internship or work experience in transportation or highway engineering
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on team projects
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward EIT
- Familiarity with transportation design standards and best practices
- Experience preparing construction plans and specifications

Compensation & Work Authorization
- Expected compensation range: $70,000 - $125,000 per year (good faith estimate; actual offer will depend on experience, location, and qualifications)
