Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an Entry-level Help Desk Support Analyst to provide Tier I and Tier II desktop and end-user support for Defense Health Agency (OPMED) systems at Ft. Detrick, MD. This is an onsite, non-remote role based in Hood College, MD. Relocation incentive available.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide Tier I and Tier II technical support to end users: respond to service requests, troubleshoot hardware/software/peripherals, identify root causes, implement solutions, and escalate complex issues when needed.
  • Install, configure, maintain, relocate, and support desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and related peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot operating system, application, network connectivity, cabling, and configuration issues to minimize downtime.
  • Support Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 365 applications and other common desktop software.
  • Use the ticketing system to document, prioritize, track and manage incidents and service requests in accordance with SLAs.
  • Perform account management and system access support for end users.
  • Assist with workstation deployments, equipment upgrades, hardware replacements, software installs and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation of issues, resolutions and system configurations.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex issues and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Perform physical IT support tasks as required (lifting, transporting, installing and organizing equipment).

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen required.
  • Active Secret (T3) security clearance OR the ability to obtain and maintain required clearance.
  • IAT Level I certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/8140 (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ CE, or equivalent).
  • 1+ years of help desk/service desk or technical support experience in an enterprise IT environment (entry-level applicants with demonstrable technical aptitude also encouraged).
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows desktop/laptop systems and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, peripherals and network connectivity issues.
  • Familiarity with supporting local and network-connected printers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and customer-service skills.
  • Demonstrated eagerness to learn and build a long-term IT career.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field.
  • Experience supporting IT systems in DoD or other regulated government environments.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical systems and senior/VIP users.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced operational environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: USD 50,000 - USD 65,000 per year (as provided by the client).
  • Benefits package may include paid holidays, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, company-paid disability, life insurance, certification reimbursement, retirement plan and other standard benefits.
  • Additional incentives may include relocation reimbursement and referral bonuses.
