What You’ll Do
This confidential client is hiring a Health Technician (Telehealth Clinical) to support telehealth clinical encounters and provide hands-on and administrative clinical support in Boardman, OR. Working as part of a multidisciplinary care team, you will help ensure smooth virtual visits, accurate documentation, and excellent patient experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for telehealth visits, including pre-visit checks, vitals collection, and equipment setup
- Operate and troubleshoot telehealth technologies and peripherals during clinical encounters
- Document encounter details in the electronic health record (EHR) and maintain clinical records accurately
- Coordinate scheduling, patient reminders, and follow-up tasks to support clinicians
- Provide patient education and basic clinical guidance per protocol
- Triage incoming communications and escalate clinical issues to licensed providers when appropriate
- Support clinic workflow, including inventory, equipment sterilization, and movement of supplies or records between sites
- Travel between VA and/or non-VA clinical sites as required to support on-site telehealth workflows
Core Qualifications
The confidential client requires candidates to meet the following minimum qualifications:
- United States Citizenship (non-citizens may only be appointed where permitted by policy)
- Proficiency in written and spoken English for direct patient-care responsibilities
- Experience/Education options (qualifying for entry-level):
- One year of experience in a health-care field demonstrating ability to perform the work (e.g., medical/clinical assistant or health technician), OR
- Four academic years above high school leading to a bachelor’s degree with related coursework, OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
- Examples: six months healthcare experience + two years post‑high‑school education with ≥6 semester hours in health-related courses, OR an associate degree in a health-related field, OR six months’ healthcare experience plus successful completion of relevant military medical training
- Grade expectations: full performance level GS-6 (actual appointment may be GS-5 to GS-6)
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs):
- Comprehensive knowledge of computer systems and clinical programs to perform varied tasks
- Strong communication skills; ability to consult and interact with clinical team members, external partners, and patients
- Ability to provide and accept guidance and technical direction
- Strong organizational skills; ability to plan, set priorities and work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply complex written instructions
- Familiarity with general clinical policies and procedures in healthcare settings
- Skilled in operating telehealth technologies to facilitate clinical encounters
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a health technician, medical assistant, or administrative medical support assistant (preferred)
- Experience with EHR documentation in a clinical setting
- Prior experience supporting virtual/telehealth clinics or remote patient monitoring
Physical & Other Requirements
- This role may require prolonged periods of standing, bending, reaching, crouching, stooping, stretching, and lifting moderately heavy items (manuals, record boxes, equipment) or assisting patients
- Above-average agility and dexterity are required
- May require travel between clinical sites; possession of a valid driver’s license may be required
Compensation & Employment Details
- Employment type: FULL_TIME
- Salary range (provided by source): $40,736 - $59,031 per year
- Appointment grade: GS-5 to GS-6 (full performance at GS-6)
