What You’ll Do

As a Health Technician (Telehealth Clinical MMU) with our confidential client, you will support telehealth clinical encounters and help ensure high-quality remote patient care. You will prepare and operate telehealth equipment, assist clinicians during remote exams, manage patient workflow and documentation, and troubleshoot basic technical issues to keep virtual visits running smoothly.

  • Operate and maintain telehealth hardware and software during clinical encounters.
  • Prepare patients for telehealth visits and capture required clinical information.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity and device issues; escalate complex problems to technical teams.
  • Assist clinicians with exam setup and workflow for remote assessments.
  • Accurately document patient interactions and clinical data in electronic records.
  • Coordinate with on-site and remote care team members to ensure efficient patient flow.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements (applicants must meet one of the following):

  • United States Citizenship (non-citizens only in limited circumstances per VA policy).
  • One year of experience in a health-care field that demonstrates ability to perform the work (e.g., medical/clinical assistant or health technician). OR
  • Four academic years above high school leading to a bachelor’s degree with relevant courses. OR
  • Combination of experience and education meeting the qualification standard (examples below). OR
  • Six months of health-care experience plus two years of post‑high-school education with at least six semester hours in health-care related courses, or an associate degree in a health-care field, or equivalent military medical training.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) required for full performance (GS-06):

  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer systems and applications used in clinical settings.
  • Skilled in the use of telehealth technologies to facilitate remote clinical encounters.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to interact with patients and multi-disciplinary care teams.
  • Ability to provide and receive technical guidance and direction.
  • Ability to organize work, set priorities, and complete assignments accurately.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply complex written instructions and clinical policies.

Preferred: prior telehealth or remote clinical support experience.

The full performance level for this vacancy is GS-06. Selection may occur at GS-05 (entry level) or GS-06 (full performance) depending on qualifications.
