Overview

Confidential client is seeking a Health Information Management Specialist to join their Health Information team in Wellston, MO. This is a full-time, day-shift role (40 hours/week) supporting centralized Health Information Management (HIM) operations. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity with an hourly pay range of $17.25–$22.33 and benefits eligibility.


What You’ll Do

This role provides day-to-day HIM support to ensure consistent application use, accurate medical records handling, and timely responses to record requests. Core responsibilities include:

  • Provide centralized HIM support to ensure consistent application usage and support best practices.
  • Perform quality reviews of scanned medical record images and maintain accuracy of electronic charts.
  • Monitor work queues and error logs daily; troubleshoot issues and escalate when needed.
  • Review requests for release of information; release only in accordance with organizational, state, and federal requirements.
  • Coordinate corrections and amendments to patient medical records.
  • Scan and file documents using correct chart categories, document types, and reference dates per organization protocols.
  • Assist internal and external customers with requests for medical record information.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Less than 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work day shift, 40 hours/week.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred, not required).
  • 2–5 years of HIM or medical records experience.
  • RHIA or RHIT certification is desirable.
  • Experience with scanning workflows, release of information, and quality review processes.
