What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Head Start Teacher to plan and deliver classroom instruction that supports students’ intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Typical responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet district curriculum requirements and show written evidence of preparation.
• Prepare lessons with accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to state (Texas Education Agency) guidelines, board policy, and administrative regulations.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies, materials, and technology to support student learning.
• Conduct assessments of student learning styles and achievement; use results to plan instruction.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula for students with IEPs.
• Plan and supervise assignments for teacher aides and volunteers.
• Support and sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Maintain professional communication with parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
• Manage classroom behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Keep accurate records, file required reports, and participate in staff meetings and professional development.

What We’re Looking For

Education, certification, experience, and core skills required by Confidential Client:

• Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for the assigned subject and level.
• Experience:
  • At least one year of student teaching or an approved internship.
• Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of assigned subjects and curriculum.
  • Classroom management and behavior-management skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use instructional technology to strengthen learning.
• Other:
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Frequent standing, stooping, bending, and the ability to move small classroom equipment.

• Supervise assigned teacher aide(s) and support staff when delegated.

Work Schedule & Compensation

• Employment type: Full-time (Contract).
• Pay: Estimated at $59,264 per year (as listed by the original posting). This is an estimate and actual pay will be set by Confidential Client and may vary by placement, certifications, and experience.
• Pay schedule: Teacher pay schedule / 187 days (per source).
