What You’ll Do

The Head Coach is the studio’s fitness leader and culture champion. You will lead the coaching team to deliver exceptional member experiences, maintain coaching standards, and drive studio performance through people development and data-informed decisions.

• Lead a minimum of 15 group fitness classes per week and model high-quality coaching, technique, and member engagement.
• Coach, mentor, and develop the fitness team through observations, feedback, and one-on-one coaching conversations.
• Oversee recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, performance management, succession planning, and retention for coaches.
• Partner with Studio Managers and regional leadership to align fitness operations with membership growth, retention, and revenue goals.
• Monitor fitness KPIs and implement improvements to boost coach effectiveness, class utilization, and member satisfaction.
• Support roll-out of new programs, promotions, and operational initiatives while ensuring consistent brand standards.
• Act as the primary subject-matter expert for fitness programming and member coaching across classes and member touchpoints.

• Create an inclusive, high-performing team environment focused on recognition, accountability, and professional growth.
• Assist with community outreach, studio events, and promotional activities that strengthen member relationships.
• Maintain operational readiness of the studio: ensure safe, clean, and organized training spaces and report facility or equipment issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Management, or related field preferred.
• 1+ year of group fitness coaching and/or personal training experience required (or equivalent combination of experience and certification).
• 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred—fitness, hospitality, retail, or multi-unit environments are a plus.
• Current fitness certification accepted by the client (examples: NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent).
• Current CPR/AED certification required.
• Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and hold a team accountable while maintaining professionalism and integrity.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role is primarily studio-based and involves frequent standing, walking, and interacting with members and staff in a high-energy environment with music and group classes. Occasional lifting of light items (approx. up to 25–30 lbs), bending, reaching, and basic cleaning tasks may be required. Reasonable accommodations will be made per applicable law.

Position Type, Hours & Travel

• Full-time; core business hours Monday through Friday with evenings and weekends as needed to meet studio needs.
• Minimal travel; travel only for trainings or regional meetings as required.

Compensation & Benefits

Estimated compensation (source data): $61,421 per year (estimated). Additional benefits and development opportunities vary by studio and will be shared by the hiring manager during the process.
