About the Role
Confidential Client is hiring a Full‑Time Head Coach in Carrboro, NC. As the studio's primary fitness leader, you will drive coaching excellence, member experience, and coach development while partnering with studio and regional leadership to meet retention and business goals.
What You’ll Do
The Head Coach leads the coaching team and ensures consistent delivery of high‑quality group fitness classes and member service.
- Lead a minimum of 15 group fitness classes per week and model best‑in‑class coaching standards
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership, mentorship, and performance management for coaches
- Conduct regular class observations and deliver actionable coaching feedback
- Assist with coach recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and retention
- Partner with Studio Managers and regional leadership to support studio goals and initiatives
- Monitor fitness KPIs, identify opportunities, and implement improvements to drive member engagement and revenue
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized studio environment; report facilities or equipment issues
- Support member retention through relationship building, events, and community outreach
- Support adoption of new programs, technology, and company initiatives
- Uphold Confidential Client’s standards, policies, and a member‑first culture
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Management, or similar preferred
- 1+ year of group fitness coaching and/or personal training experience required
- 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred (fitness, hospitality, retail, or multi‑unit settings)
- Current fitness certification approved by the studio (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent)
- Current CPR/AED certification required
- Strong communication, coaching, and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to analyze basic performance data and use it to drive decisions
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment and maintain composure
- Commitment to inclusivity, professional integrity, and exceptional customer service
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Primarily based in a studio environment with frequent interaction with members and team members
- Frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout the studio; moderate to loud noise levels from music/classes
- May require lifting/carrying items up to ~25–30 lbs, bending, reaching, and light cleaning
- Business hours generally Monday–Friday; evening and weekend availability may be required
