What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring a Hardware Digital Engineer to join their hardware R&D team in Tarrytown, TX. This role owns FPGA and board‑level digital design throughout the product lifecycle and works closely with cross‑functional hardware and software teams to deliver test & measurement products.

  • Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary hardware engineering teams to develop test and measurement products.
  • Define register maps and produce clear documentation to communicate design intent.
  • Own full FPGA design flow: RTL (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog), testbenches, synthesis, timing closure, and integration.
  • Lead digital board‑level design tasks: schematic entry, layout guidelines, signal‑integrity checks, and prototype validation.
  • Plan and execute prototype bring‑up and board validation; debug at system and board level.
  • Provide task estimates, report status, and flag technical risks in project meetings.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of digital design processes and best practices.

Who You Are

You are an early‑career engineer (or recent graduate) who learns quickly and partners effectively across teams. You take ownership, persist through technical challenges, and balance hands‑on evaluation with solid documentation and communication.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency with digital logic, synchronous design, timing diagrams, and state machines.
  • Experience or coursework with FPGA design using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Familiarity with computer architectures and common hardware interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of programming for test and automation (Python, C, LabVIEW or similar).
  • Located within commutable distance to Tarrytown, TX or willing to relocate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with board bring‑up, signal integrity fundamentals, and debugging with bench instruments (oscilloscope, DMM, function generator, power supplies).
  • Familiarity with Xilinx, Intel, or Lattice FPGAs/CPLDs and vendor toolchains.
  • Ability to write effective testbenches and perform timing analysis.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills; demonstrated ability to diagnose hardware/software interactions.
  • Self‑starter who can work independently and within a team; strong verbal and written communication.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated base (advertised): $144,467 per year (estimated).
