What You’ll Do

As an entry-level Hardware Design Engineer supporting a confidential client, you will work with senior engineers to design, build, validate, and support PCB-based electronic hardware for test and measurement products. This role is hands-on and ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer who wants exposure to analog, mixed-signal, and digital hardware development.

  • Assist in the design and development of PCB-based hardware systems from concept through validation.
  • Create and maintain schematics, engineering documentation, and design records using industry-standard CAD tools.
  • Support PCB layout activities by collaborating with senior engineers on component placement, routing, and design constraints.
  • Participate in board bring-up, prototype debugging, and validation testing.
  • Apply signal integrity fundamentals: transmission line concepts, impedance control, termination techniques, and high-speed routing guidelines.
  • Design and analyze basic analog circuits (amplifiers, filters, power supplies, signal conditioning) and data-converter interfaces.
  • Use laboratory instrumentation (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum/network analyzers, power supplies) for testing and characterization.
  • Assist in root-cause analysis and structured debugging for hardware issues.
  • Participate in schematic, layout, and engineering design reviews.
  • Collaborate across firmware, FPGA, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams to support product development.
  • Support manufacturing and sustaining engineering activities, including troubleshooting production and field issues.
  • Follow established engineering processes, quality systems, and documentation standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • 0–2 years of industry experience (including internships, co-ops, senior design, or research).
  • Understanding of analog and digital circuit fundamentals.
  • Basic knowledge of PCB design concepts, schematic capture, and multilayer board layouts.
  • Familiarity with signal integrity fundamentals and high-speed interfaces.
  • Understanding of common electronic components (op amps, ADCs/DACs, regulators, MOSFETs, etc.).
  • Familiarity with serial communication protocols (I²C, SPI, UART, GPIO).
  • Experience using laboratory instrumentation for troubleshooting and measurement.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on a collaborative engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or project experience in hardware or PCB design.
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium, Cadence Allegro, Siemens Xpedition, or similar).
  • Exposure to analog circuit simulation tools (LTspice, PSpice).
  • Coursework or project experience with signal integrity or power integrity concepts.
  • Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for test automation and data analysis.
  • Experience developing and debugging microcontroller-based systems.
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFT best practices.
  • Participation in engineering clubs, competitions, or personal electronics projects.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated pay range: USD $63,900 – $118,700 per year.
  • Eligible for bonus as part of total compensation.
  • Standard benefits typically include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and professional development support (actual package provided by the confidential client).

Location & Worksite

  • On-site role based in West Slope / Beaverton, OR (postal code 97075).
  • Candidates must be able to work on-site and participate in lab and manufacturing testing activities.
