What You’ll Do
This entry-level Hardware Design Engineer will support hardware design, validation, and sustainment for precision test-and-measurement products. Working with senior engineers, you will contribute to schematic capture, PCB layout support, prototype bring-up, and lab verification.
- Assist in the design and development of PCB-based hardware systems from concept through validation
- Create and maintain schematics, BOMs, and engineering documentation using industry CAD tools
- Support PCB layout activities by collaborating with senior engineers on placement, routing, and constraints
- Participate in prototype bring-up, debugging, and functional validation
- Apply basic signal integrity principles (transmission lines, impedance control, termination, high-speed routing)
- Design and analyze basic analog circuits (amplifiers, filters, power supplies, signal conditioning, ADC/DAC interfaces)
- Use lab instruments (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum/network analyzers, power supplies) for testing and characterization
- Troubleshoot hardware issues using structured debugging and root-cause analysis
- Participate in schematic/layout/design reviews and cross-discipline design meetings
- Collaborate with firmware, FPGA, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineers to support product development
- Support manufacturing and sustaining engineering activities, including production troubleshooting and field support
- Follow established engineering processes, quality systems, and documentation standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
- 0–2 years of industry experience (including internships, co-ops, senior design projects, or research)
- Understanding of analog and digital circuit fundamentals
- Familiarity with PCB design concepts, schematic capture, and multilayer board layouts
- Basic familiarity with signal integrity fundamentals (transmission lines, timing, high-speed interfaces)
- Knowledge of common electronic components (op-amps, ADCs/DACs, regulators, MOSFETs, comms devices)
- Familiarity with serial protocols (I²C, SPI, UART) and GPIO interfaces
- Experience using laboratory instrumentation for measurement and troubleshooting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication and ability to work in collaborative teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or project experience in hardware or PCB design
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium, Cadence/Allegro, Siemens Xpedition, etc.)
- Exposure to analog circuit simulation tools (LTspice, PSpice, or equivalent)
- Coursework or project experience with signal integrity / power integrity concepts
- Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for test automation and data analysis
- Experience developing and debugging microcontroller-based systems
- Knowledge of DFM and DFT principles
- Participation in engineering clubs, competitions, research projects, or personal electronics projects
Compensation & Additional Details
- Employment type: Full-time
- Eligible for bonus as part of total compensation
- Pay range (local currency): 63,900.00 - 118,700.00 per year (provided by the client)
