Position Overview

This is a full-time Data Analyst, Digital Finance role supporting a confidential client in the music & publishing space. The role focuses on building and maintaining financial and commercial data pipelines, standardizing reporting, delivering executive-ready dashboards, and supporting digital licensing and revenue analytics. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the Los Angeles, CA office.


What You’ll Do

You will partner with cross-functional teams across finance, digital licensing, and market intelligence to deliver accurate, actionable financial and operational reporting for the digital business.

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and a single source of financial truth for digital revenue and licensing.
  • Develop, standardize, and improve reporting templates used across markets and partners.
  • Source, clean, validate, and integrate diverse and unstructured data sets (streaming, licensing, partner reports, internal accounting feeds).
  • Build and maintain analytics dashboards (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, Domo, etc.) to summarize performance for senior leadership.
  • Produce ad-hoc analyses and data summaries to support license negotiations and commercial decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to source data and improve data quality and processes.
  • Identify recurring manual tasks and partner on automation and ETL/ELT improvements.
  • Ensure data models and reporting follow strong governance: schema design, table structuring, data validation, and traceability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, data science, business analytics, finance, or a related quantitative field — or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • 2+ years of experience building clear data views from diverse, unstructured sources at scale (enterprise-level experience preferred).
  • Advanced SQL expertise for data warehousing, schema design, and ETL/ELT development.
  • Experience building dashboards and visualizations for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Clear communication skills; ability to explain analytical findings to technical and non-technical partners.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.; employment contingent on ability to meet eligibility requirements.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • 1+ years of experience in the music, publishing, or entertainment industry (digital finance, royalty accounting, or licensing exposure preferred).
  • Data transformation experience in Python, R, or Java.
  • Experience with modern data stack tools (dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.).
  • Familiarity with data science techniques (regression, iterative model building, cross-validation) is a plus.
  • Strong Excel modeling skills for ad-hoc financial reconciliation and analysis.

Compensation & Logistics

  • Employment type: Full-time (direct hire by confidential client).
  • Work location: Los Angeles, CA — hybrid; minimum 3 days/week onsite.
  • Salary range: $65,000 to $75,000 annually. The actual base pay offered will depend on factors such as experience, skills, and business needs. This range is provided in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements and may be adjusted over time.
