What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Grants & Contracts Specialist to support pre-award and post-award sponsored funds management for the Pathology area. This is an entry-level to developing-level role managing less-complex grants independently and assisting on more complex awards under supervision.

  • Manage pre-award work: proposal preparation, budget development, application submission coordination, and adherence to sponsor guidelines.
  • Review grant budgets and justifications for completeness and appropriate indirect cost treatment.
  • Coordinate submission details, timelines, and communications with faculty, departmental staff, and central offices.
  • Serve as a liaison with institutional offices (e.g., ORA), funding agencies, and subawardees as needed.
  • Support post-award administration: award setup, account reconciliation, effort reporting, cost transfers, invoicing/payment support, reporting, and closeout tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare routine reports, and assist with audits and compliance checks.
  • Assist with foundation awards, federal pass-through grants, and subaward coordination when applicable.
  • Perform other duties related to sponsored funds management as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent as permitted by the client’s equivalency formula).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage administrative tasks accurately and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of administrative or budgeting experience.
  • Familiarity with institutional accounting/fiscal systems preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of federal sponsor guidelines (NIH, NSF, DOD, NASA) is a plus.

Role Details

  • Employment type: Full-time
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Location: Baltimore, MD (School of Medicine Campus) — employed by Confidential Client
  • FLSA status: Non-exempt
  • Starting pay range: $22.75 — $39.81 per hour (approximately $52,000 targeted; commensurate with experience)
  • Industry: Scientific & QA
