The Opportunity

Our confidential client is hiring an entry-level Graduate Wastewater Engineer to join their Water/Wastewater team in Duluth, MN. This is a hands-on role where you’ll gain practical experience on municipal wastewater planning, design, field observation, and construction administration while receiving mentorship from experienced engineers and project managers.

• Work location: Duluth, Minnesota (on-site required as needed)

What You’ll Do

• Assist with wastewater engineering planning, studies, and preliminary design calculations
• Prepare plans, specifications, technical documentation, and reports
• Support construction observation, field work, submittal review, and construction administration
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and municipal clients
• Learn and follow firm processes, quality expectations, and project delivery standards
• Coordinate with conveying, civil, and related project teams on multi-discipline efforts

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
• Strong interest in water and wastewater engineering
• Able and willing to report to the Duluth office and nearby project sites as needed
• Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
• Able to work outdoors, traverse rough terrain, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
• Willingness to travel as required for project assignments
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without future visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant coursework or internship experience in wastewater, water resources, civil site, environmental, or municipal engineering
• Foundational experience with design, technical writing, construction observation, or construction administration
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with engineering-related software
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain certification

Compensation & Location Details

• Base compensation range: $65,000 — $75,000 per year (based on experience and skill set)
• Location: Duluth, MN (candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the area)
• Note: Due to current business and operational considerations, our client is unable to hire applicants residing in AK, AR, CA, CT, DE, HI, KY, MA, RI, VT, or PR at this time. Candidates willing to relocate should indicate this in their application.
