About the Role

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Graduate Statistician / Data Analyst to join their analytics team in Texas. This early-career role suits recent graduates with strong quantitative training who want structured mentorship and hands-on experience in statistical analysis, predictive modelling, reporting, and data visualisation. No prior professional experience is required — full training is provided.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, validate, and transform data from multiple internal and external sources.
  • Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualisations to support business decisions.
  • Write SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyse relational data.
  • Support forecasting, predictive modelling, and time-series analysis.
  • Apply standard statistical techniques (regression, hypothesis testing, A/B analysis) to solve business problems.
  • Document methods, assumptions, and analysis results clearly and reproducibly.
  • Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Assist in automating recurring reports and analytic processes.
  • Support data quality, governance, and validation efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, operations, finance) on analytics projects.
  • Stay current with statistical methods and analytics tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Recent graduate or up to 1 year of professional experience (entry-level).
  • Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and quantitative analysis.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Excel (including PivotTables and formulas).
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical results to non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn.

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience or coursework in Python or R for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with BI and dashboard tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio).
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques: regression analysis, hypothesis testing, time series forecasting, predictive modelling.
  • Experience with Excel advanced features (Power Query, advanced formulas).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus.
  • Academic projects, Kaggle notebooks, GitHub repositories, or internships are beneficial but not required.
