What You’ll Do
This posting is for a Graduate Resident Nurse position on a Cardiology Telemetry unit in Burlington, MA. As a Graduate Resident Nurse you will deliver direct patient care under RN supervision, participate in a Nurse Residency Program, and follow unit and institutional standards to provide safe, patient-centered care in a cardiology/telemetry setting.
- Provide direct bedside nursing care using the nursing process and unit-specific competencies
- Participate in admission, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
- Administer medications and treatments, and document in electronic health records
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond to changes in patient condition per protocol
- Coordinate care with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and assistive personnel
- Provide patient and family education focused on disease process, treatments, and prevention
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and regulatory readiness activities
Key Responsibilities
- Apply clinical judgment to assess patients, recognize changes, and escalate appropriately
- Develop culturally competent plans of care with measurable outcomes
- Deliver age-appropriate care across adult cardiac/pulmonary populations
- Demonstrate professional communication with patients, families, and colleagues
- Support the learning environment and transition from novice to competent practice
- Maintain required competencies and mandatory education (including emergency skills)
- Uphold confidentiality, standards of behavior, and organizational policies
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a state approved or accredited School of Nursing
- BSN preferred
- Current license to practice professional nursing in Massachusetts OR NCLEX registration documentation if a graduating student (as applicable)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 0–1 years related experience; entry-level role appropriate for new graduates
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation in web-based applications
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Preferred / Helpful
- Interest in cardiology and telemetry nursing
- Desire to follow the Clinical Cardiology career pathway (PCU, ICU, ED, or Cath/EP labs)
- Commitment to lifelong learning and evidence-based nursing practice
Compensation & Additional Details
- Pay range: $37.00 per hour (base hourly wage). Actual compensation may vary based on experience, certifications, shift differentials, and applicable law.
- Employment type: Full time
- Schedule: 36 hours, day/night rotating shifts (per the source posting)
- Work location: Burlington, MA (Lahey Medical Center area)
- This role includes enrollment in a Nurse Residency Program during the first year; Nurse Leadership will define clinical and educational time balance.
