Confidential Client is hiring a Graduate Nurse for the 2027 Winter cohort at their Sugar Land campus (Booth, TX). This entry-level nurse role (Graduate Nurse / GN) works under RN supervision to deliver safe, compassionate care and to develop clinical skills through coaching, on-the-job training, and structured learning.
What You’ll Do
- Provide professional nursing care to a diverse patient population under the supervision of an experienced Registered Nurse (RN).
- Perform nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatments, and document care clearly and promptly.
- Administer medications and assist with procedures according to supervision and local nursing practice rules.
- Participate in patient and family education and discharge planning in collaboration with the care team.
- Escalate clinical concerns and collaborate with physicians and interprofessional team members to achieve quality outcomes.
- Demonstrate progressive development in clinical judgment, critical thinking, time management, and prioritization.
- Support unit quality, safety, and patient satisfaction initiatives through expected behaviors and participation in unit-based activities.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred; Associates degree in Nursing may be considered.
- Experience: New graduates welcome — zero years of post-graduation experience required. Completion of nursing degree with hospital clinical rotations is required.
- Licenses & Certifications (required at hire or per local/state rules):
- GN — Graduate Nurse Temporary state licensure (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation) OR eligible for GN temporary licensure in Texas
- BLS (Basic Life Support) — American Heart Association (or equivalent)
- FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated competency in clinical skills as assessed in ongoing performance evaluations and competency checks.
- Proficient English speaking, reading, and writing as required for safe patient care and communication.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage time effectively, and grow toward independent clinical judgment under supervision.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.
Working Conditions & Supplemental Info
- Uniform: Scrubs required.
- On-call: No (employees may be required to be on-call during major emergencies or disasters).
- Travel: No routine travel required within or outside the Houston metropolitan area.
