What You’ll Do
This entry-level Graduate Nurse (GN) role provides supervised, bedside nursing care while you progress clinically and professionally. Under RN supervision and program coaching, you will:
- Provide direct patient care and perform nursing assessments for a diverse inpatient population
- Assist with exams, treatments, medication administration, and procedures per scope of practice
- Document care and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with policies
- Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education to support safe transitions
- Collaborate with physicians and the interprofessional care team to coordinate care and escalate concerns
- Participate in unit-based learning, competency assessments, and receive structured feedback and mentorship
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school preferred; Associates degree considered
- Completion of a nursing program that included clinical rotations in a hospital setting
- Zero years of professional RN experience required (entry-level / new graduate position)
- GN — Graduate Nurse Temporary State Licensure (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation) required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association required
Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrated foundational clinical skills and progression toward competence via ongoing assessments
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills for safe, patient-focused care
- Ability to prioritize, organize work, and manage time in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Emerging critical thinking and clinical judgment aligned with the Nurse Practice Act
- Teamwork and professional behavior that support a healthy unit culture and quality outcomes
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook

- Build therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and the care team using effective communication and teaching techniques

- Help meet unit financial and quality targets by managing time and resources efficiently
- Identify personal learning needs and participate in continuing education and new-care-pathway implementations

- Estimated pay: $70,203 per year (estimated)
- Program timing: Positions cover the 2027 Winter graduate cohort; structured mentorship and RN coaching provided
