Role Overview
Confidential Client is hiring Graduate Nurses (GN) for entry-level nursing positions supporting continuing care patients at its long-term acute care facility in Barker, TX. This is a structured development role for new nursing graduates who will work under the supervision of experienced Registered Nurses and the interprofessional care team to build clinical skills, provide compassionate patient care, and support continuity of care.
What You’ll Do
- Provide professional nursing care to a diverse patient population under RN supervision
- Perform nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatments, and document care in the medical record
- Administer medications and perform basic procedures following established protocols
- Deliver patient and family education and support discharge planning
- Collaborate with physicians and the interprofessional healthcare team to coordinate care and achieve treatment goals
- Participate in on-going competency assessments and apply feedback to improve clinical performance
- Act as a patient and family advocate, maintaining patient rights and dignity
Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing preferred; Associates degree will be considered
- Experience
- New graduates welcome — zero years of post-graduate experience required
- Completion of nursing program with clinical rotations in a hospital setting
- Licenses & Certifications (required)
- GN — Graduate Nurse Temporary State Licensure (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation) OR equivalent temporary graduate nurse licensure for Texas
- BLS — Basic Life Support (AHA) or BLS Instructor (AHA)

- Demonstrates foundational clinical skills and willingness to learn through supervised practice
- Clear verbal and written communication in English relevant to patient safety and care coordination
- Customer-service oriented communication with patients, families, physicians, and team members
- Developing assessment, organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
- Progression toward independent clinical judgment consistent with the Nurse Practice Act
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and basic clinical documentation systems

- Support development and communication of the plan of care under RN supervision, including discharge planning

- Adhere to professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements
- Provide and adapt care for patients of increasing complexity while prioritizing safety

- Manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and minimize incidental overtime
- Contribute to department targets and efficient resource use as part of unit-based goals
Growth & Innovation
- Identify personal learning needs and pursue continuing education opportunities
- Support adoption of new care pathways and service-line improvements

- Work attire: Scrubs required
- On-call: Not required (may be required during emergencies as necessary)

Compensation & Schedule

This position is based in Barker, TX. Employment and work assignments are with Confidential Client’s long-term acute care facility located in Barker, serving patients across the Greater Houston area.
