Position overview

This posting covers Graduate Nurse (GN) opportunities at the Confidential Client Baytown campus for the 2027 Winter cohort. The Graduate Nurse is an entry-level nursing role that works under RN supervision to develop clinical skills and provide compassionate, safe patient care across a hospital setting. This role follows a novice-to-practitioner progression and includes structured coaching, competency assessments and professional development.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide professional nursing care to a diverse patient population under the supervision of an RN.
  • Conduct nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatments, document care, and provide patient education.
  • Administer medications and perform procedures within scope and training; escalate and manage emergencies with team support.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interprofessional care team to support efficient, quality treatment outcomes.
  • Participate in discharge planning and continuity of care activities.
  • Engage in ongoing skills assessments, competency evaluations, and unit-based quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of Nursing preferred; Associate degree from an accredited school of Nursing will be considered.
  • Experience: New graduates welcome (zero years experience). Completion of clinical rotations in a hospital setting is required.
  • Employment Type: Full time.

Required Licenses & Certifications

  • GN — Graduate Nurse Temporary State Licensure (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation) — required prior to or upon hire as applicable.
  • BLS — Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) — required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrates progressing clinical skills and competency through training and evaluations.
  • Proficient verbal and written English sufficient to perform essential functions safely.
  • Able to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians and team members using positive, patient-centered language.
  • Developing assessment, organizational, time-management and critical thinking skills consistent with an entry-level nurse.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and basic Microsoft products.
