Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Civil Engineer to support site development projects in Cary, NC. This role is ideal for recent civil engineering graduates or early-career engineers who want hands-on project experience—grading, stormwater, erosion control, pavement, culverts—and exposure to multidisciplinary project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop familiarity with departmental design guides, standards, engineering codes, and client policies.
- Support design and construction activities for site development projects including grading, stormwater systems, erosion control, culverts, and pavement design.
- Participate in project coordination meetings and help resolve design challenges while incorporating client requirements.
- Perform routine research and recommend equipment or material selections.
- Prepare basic engineering calculations using established methods and principles.
- Assist in developing project schedules, cost estimates, and engineering deliverables.
- Learn and apply engineering software, digital delivery tools, and design workflows.
- Support internal project teams and begin to understand external client drivers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (preferred).
- GPA around 3.0 preferred.
- Basic knowledge of engineering design principles, applicable guides, and standards.
- Familiarity with construction practices and constructability considerations.
- Interest in stormwater, grading, and site development design.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program (domestic or recognized international equivalent).
- Ability to complete pre-employment checks as required (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records, etc.), in compliance with applicable laws.
Work Environment & Schedule
- This role may offer hybrid or flexible work options after an initial employment period (e.g., 90 days), subject to manager direction and work assignments.
- Relocation eligibility may be available for qualified candidates.
Compensation & Benefits
- In accordance with the source posting for this location, the listed compensation range is $18.72 - $36.95. (This is the range provided by the client for the role and location.)
