Overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Civil Engineer to support site development projects in Barton Hills, MI. This role focuses on grading, stormwater, erosion control, culverts, and pavement design while working with multidisciplinary project teams. Hybrid or flexible work options may be available after 90 days based on manager direction and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop familiarity with departmental design guides, applicable engineering codes, standards, and internal policies.
• Support multidisciplinary project teams on site development design and construction activities including grading design, stormwater design, erosion control, culvert design, and pavement design.
• Participate in project coordination meetings and help resolve design challenges while incorporating client requirements.
• Perform routine research and prepare recommendations for materials and equipment selection.
• Prepare basic engineering calculations using standard methods and principles.
• Assist in preparing project schedules, cost estimates, and engineering deliverables to support project execution.
• Learn and apply engineering software, design tools, and digital delivery methods.
• Support internal project leadership while developing awareness of external client drivers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (preferred).
• GPA of 3.0 or higher (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards for civil/site development work.
• Familiarity with industry trends and design/construction practices related to site development.
• Basic understanding of constructability and field practices.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program (home country or the country where the professional is practicing).
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding (which may include background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records check) in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Typical office and project-site environment. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days, depending on manager direction, job performance, and assignments.
• May require occasional field visits and site inspections.

Compensation

• In accordance with local law, the following compensation range applies for this role in Barton Hills, MI: $18.72 - $36.95 (as provided by the client).
