Role overview

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Graduate Certification Engineer I to join a two-year Global Graduate development program focused on certification and airworthiness. This is an early-career, full-time role based in Mobile, AL, with approximately 80% onsite work. The program combines on-the-job responsibilities with structured soft-skill and technical development, rotations, and exposure to certification processes that support Type Certification (TC), changes to TC, and continued airworthiness.


What You’ll Do

  • Support creation and review of certification documentation related to Type Certification, modifications, and continued airworthiness.
  • Help develop and manage Certification Plans and identify applicable aircraft regulations for changes and repairs.
  • Use MS Word, Excel, Google Workspace and proprietary tools to prepare and manage certification artifacts.
  • Learn and apply Confidential Client processes, methods and tools for airworthiness certification—from new delivery through in-service repairs and modifications.
  • Collaborate with design office specialists, repair specialists and certification team members to gather required technical data.
  • Participate in at least one rotational placement (U.S.-based rotations centered on Confidential Client Americas engineering locations).
  • Progress through a structured two-year curriculum designed to develop you into Certification Engineer II by program completion.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering (Aerospace, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) or equivalent. Strong coursework in structural design, mechanics of materials or related subjects is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English.
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to learn, work collaboratively, and drive your own development.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future need for visa sponsorship.

Preferred / nice-to-have:

  • Interest in certification, airworthiness, regulatory compliance, or aerospace engineering.
  • Comfort using standard office productivity tools and learning proprietary engineering systems.

Location & work type

  • Primary work location: Mobile, AL (city: Mobile | state: AL | country: US).
  • Onsite requirement: ~80% onsite (some hybrid/remote activities possible).
  • Employment type: Full-time, entry-level / graduate program.

Physical & workplace requirements

  • Regular use of computers and ability to read electronic documents and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to participate in meetings (in-person and virtual) and hear safety warnings or alarms.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying of items up to 30 lbs (14 kg).
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, stand for discussions, and perform occasional squatting/kneeling to access low storage.
