GIS Analyst
The GIS Analyst supports the Confidential Client's enterprise GIS by developing and maintaining Esri-based GIS data, applications, and spatial analyses. This entry-level role involves creating maps, dashboards, and reports, performing QA/QC on spatial data, and providing technical support and training to internal stakeholders. The position requires strong ArcGIS skills and offers a hybrid work schedule following an initial onsite training period.

What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry- to junior-level GIS Analyst to support the enterprise GIS team. You will work in an Esri-centered environment to deliver maps, analyses, and geospatial applications that support transportation and infrastructure workflows.
- Provide geospatial solutions to internal stakeholders through maps, dashboards, reports, and spatial analyses
- Develop, maintain, and update web maps and web mapping applications using ArcGIS Enterprise
- Use ArcGIS Pro for desktop mapping, editing, and analysis
- Perform QA/QC on transportation-related spatial data, web maps, and GIS applications
- Conduct spatial analyses and produce specialty informational products
- Create, maintain, and onboard asset data into the client’s enterprise asset management platform
- Document GIS processes and contribute to geospatial data governance standards
- Provide training and technical support to GIS users across the organization
- Perform scheduled maintenance on GIS servers and supporting systems (may include off-hours)
- Keep current with GIS best practices and Esri platform updates
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field
- Approximately 1–2 years of professional GIS experience (entry-level to junior-level)
- Strong experience with ArcGIS Pro as the primary desktop GIS tool
- Experience in the Esri ecosystem, including ArcGIS Enterprise and enterprise geodatabases
- Demonstrated experience performing QA/QC on spatial data, web maps, and web applications
- Experience with imagery interpretation and feature extraction
- Authorized to work in the United States immediately (this position is not available for H‑1B sponsorship)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience with transportation or utility asset data collection and onboarding
- Familiarity converting CAD and survey data into GIS formats
- Working knowledge of GPS/GNSS technologies and linear referencing systems
- Exposure to programming or query languages (Python, SQL, or Java)
- Experience with Unity asset management or similar enterprise asset management platforms is a plus
Work Environment & Schedule
- Training Period: first 90 days onsite to support onboarding and knowledge transfer
- After 90 days: hybrid schedule (typical expectation: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
- Preferred in-office day: Wednesday
- This is a full-time role. The GIS team reports to a GIS manager (role previously backfilled).
Estimated salary (source): $71,441 per year — estimated.
