What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support geotechnical and geological projects from the Wexford, PA office. This early-career role combines office analysis and fieldwork across projects such as pipeline alignments, transportation corridors, and infrastructure siting.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct field assignments: site mapping, drilling supervision, borehole and test pit logging, site reconnaissance, and construction quality assurance (CQA) monitoring.
- Collect, compile, and evaluate geotechnical and geologic field data and samples.
- Perform engineering analyses, modeling, and calculations to develop design recommendations.
- Prepare geotechnical deliverables: borehole logs, subsurface cross-sections, groundwater interpretations, technical reports, and permit documentation.
- Support preparation of construction documents including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Communicate findings clearly to project teams and clients; contribute to technical reviews with senior staff.
- Follow safety procedures and site-specific protocols; safely perform fieldwork in varied weather and remote locations.
- Complete assigned training and exercise responsible, ethical decision-making in line with company policies.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 1–3 years of relevant post-education experience (entry-level to early-career).
- Strong analytical and research skills; attention to detail.
- Familiarity with geotechnical investigation methods, geohazard identification, and design/build concepts.
- Understanding of remediation, permitting, construction codes and compliance practices.
- Effective written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, spreadsheets, and common engineering software.
- Willingness to travel for fieldwork and to work schedules that may extend beyond typical business hours.
- Ability to lift and move approximately 50 pounds and to safely operate vehicles for field assignments.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited program preferred).
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Experience with AutoCAD and GIS.
- Prior internships or hands-on field experience collecting geotechnical data and using field data apps.
- Active participation in local professional practice organizations.
