Position Summary
Confidential Client is hiring an Environmental Engineer / Geologist / Scientist to join a regional environmental team in Mineola, NY. This hands‑on role supports site assessments, field sampling, contractor oversight, and preparation of technical reports for public- and private-sector projects.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
- Oversee drilling/excavation contractors and collect soil, groundwater, and soil‑vapor samples
- Soil logging and geologic formation description
- Construction oversight: excavations, monitoring well installations, UST investigations/closures, etc.
- Implement CAMP and conduct work‑zone monitoring
- Field activity report writing and documentation of field work
- Assist project managers with summary reports, deliverables, and schedule/budget tracking
- Perform an 8-hour shift schedule for field assignments as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related field
- 2–5 years of relevant experience (entry-level candidates with field experience may be considered)
- Field sampling and site investigation experience
- Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills
- Experience with project scheduling and basic budget management
- Asbestos experience or professional license is a plus
- Self-starter who works well both independently and in small teams
