Role Overview
This fixed-term (1 year) Research Data Analyst role supports a confidential client’s Center for Undiagnosed Diseases (CUD) site. You will manage, analyze, and interpret genomic and multi-omic data alongside clinical information to support diagnosis of rare and undiagnosed conditions. This is a hybrid-eligible position based in Palo Alto, CA.
Core Responsibilities
- Collect, manage, clean, and maintain research datasets to support case workflows and reporting.
- Analyze genomic and multi-omic data; integrate clinical data to assist diagnostic interpretation.
- Employ tools to visualize multivariate relationships and summarize findings for investigators.
- Create databases, reports, charts, graphs, and tables for internal tracking and publication/presentation.
- Develop algorithms and statistical models and perform appropriate statistical analyses.
- Audit data processes, identify problematic data or root causes, and propose corrective actions.
- Collaborate with faculty, clinicians, and research staff on data collection, interpretation, and methods.
- Provide documentation and reports for audits, grant requirements, and external partners.
- Support participant case management and ensure efficient progress through the evaluation pipeline.
- Communicate findings with internal stakeholders and, when appropriate, with grant agencies or external contacts.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience) in a quantitative or life-science field.
- Experience in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, economics, engineering, or related fields.
- Substantial experience with MS Office and analytical software/tools.
- Strong analytical thinking and clear scientific writing skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple cases, and maintain accurate documentation.
Preferred Qualifications & Relevant Experience
- Strong background in Mendelian genetics and familiarity with rare-disease diagnostics.
- Prior experience with variant interpretation or translational research programs.
- Experience working with multi-omic datasets and integrating genomic and clinical data.
- Familiarity with research databases, data pipelines, and reporting standards used in clinical research.
- Experience contributing to publications or presentations is a plus.
Work Terms & Location
- One-year fixed-term appointment.
- Hybrid-eligible — role is based in Palo Alto, CA with some on-site expectations.
- This role supports participant-facing case workflows; ability to work with protected health information and follow institutional research compliance and data-security requirements is required.
