Responsibilities
Confidential Client is hiring a GenAI Python Systems Engineer (Experienced Associate) to support data & analytics engineering and AI/ML initiatives. In this role you will:
- Build and maintain reliable client and team relationships.
- Contribute to design, development, and deployment of data systems and ML-enabled solutions.
- Write, review, and maintain Python code for data pipelines, integrations, and system automation.
- Work with relational databases and SQL to extract, transform, and validate data.
- Deploy and manage containerized workloads (Docker) and support CI/CD practices and developer-led testing.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune data pipelines, data warehouses, and workflows for reliability, performance, and cost.
- Support infrastructure-as-code deployments using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data architecture and implementation tasks.
- Follow professional and ethical standards in all client work.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Information Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical discipline.
- At least 1 year of professional experience in software, systems, data engineering, or related work.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience working with container technologies (Docker) and basic familiarity with CI/CD and developer testing practices.
Preferred / Nice-to-have Qualifications
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Familiarity with cloud data engineering, data warehouses, and ML workflows.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
- Exposure to model-serving or LLM-enhancement techniques.
- Experience with Java or Scala is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in hybrid or client-facing teams.
Work Location & Schedule
- Hybrid role based in San Juan, Puerto Rico (Urbanización El Vedado) — local presence expected per project needs. Specific schedule and remote/hybrid balance will be determined by the Confidential Client and subject to local and federal employment policies.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $61,000 – $100,000 per year. Actual pay will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law.
- Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and standard benefits offered by the Confidential Client (medical, dental, vision, retirement plan options, paid time off, and other benefits where applicable).
