What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is looking for an early-career GenAI Python Systems Engineer to support data and analytics engineering work across AI/ML and cloud platforms. In this role you will learn, contribute, and help deliver robust, production-ready data systems that power GenAI solutions.
- Contribute to the design, build, and deployment of data pipelines, ML model integration, and GenAI systems
- Write production-quality Python code and collaborate on Java/Scala components when needed
- Develop and maintain SQL queries, relational data models, and ETL/ELT workflows
- Use containerization (Docker) to package services and assist with CI/CD practices
- Work with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates) to provision cloud infrastructure
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines and data warehouses to ensure reliability, performance, and cost control
- Support developer-led testing, maintain software quality, and participate in code reviews
- Translate stakeholder requirements into data solutions and collaborate with team members on client engagements
- Maintain professional standards and documentation, and actively participate in learning and feedback cycles
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer & Information Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related engineering discipline
- At least 1 year of relevant technical or engineering experience
- Ability to legally work in the United States (employment subject to verification)
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn in a client-facing, team-oriented environment
Preferred / Nice-to-have
- Cloud certifications (AWS, GCP, or Azure) such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, or Microsoft Azure Data/Architect certifications
- Hands-on experience with Python; familiarity with Java or Scala is a plus
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases and data modeling
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration patterns
- Familiarity with ML/AI workflows, LLM enhancement techniques, and production model deployment
- Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates for IaC
- Background in data architecture, monitoring, and troubleshooting production data systems
Location & Work Model
- Location: Cheektowaga, NY (Buffalo area). This role is listed as hybrid — local candidates or those able to commute to the Buffalo/Cheektowaga area are preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $61,000 - $100,000 per year. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and location, and will comply with applicable laws.
- Eligible employees may receive an annual discretionary bonus.
- Typical benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, retirement plan (401k), paid holidays, vacation, and personal/family sick leave. Specific benefits will be provided by the hiring organization.
