Position summary
Confidential Client is seeking a GenAI Python Engineer (Experienced Associate) to join a Data & Analytics Engineering team supporting cloud-based AI/ML and data platform projects. This role is based in Newburgh Heights, OH (44101) and requires at least 1 year of relevant experience. The position offers a hybrid work model and a salary range of $61,000 - $100,000 (actual compensation depends on location, experience, and applicable law).
What you’ll do
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and supporting data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and GenAI systems. You will:
- Contribute to development, deployment, and maintenance of production data systems and GenAI tooling.
- Write, test, and maintain Python code for data processing, model orchestration, and system integrations.
- Work with cloud infrastructure (IaC) to provision and manage resources using tools like CloudFormation, ARM templates, or Terraform.
- Containerize applications and manage deployments using Docker and related tooling.
- Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into reliable data architectures.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, warehouses, and ML workflows to ensure data quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Support developer-led testing and CI/CD practices to maintain software quality.
- Learn and apply AI/LLM techniques to improve system behavior and assist in model evaluation or deployment workflows.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer and Information Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience in software or data engineering roles.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and developer testing practices.
Preferred / differentiating skills
- Cloud platform certifications or hands-on experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) — examples: AWS Solutions Architect/Data Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Architect/Data Engineer, Microsoft Azure certifications.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, ARM templates, Terraform).
- Programming experience in Java or Scala is a plus.
- Familiarity with ML/data science workflows and model deployment patterns.
- Understanding of large language models (LLMs) and techniques that enhance their performance.
- Experience designing data architectures and translating stakeholder requirements into technical solutions.
- Monitoring, performance tuning, and cost management on cloud platforms.
Compensation & benefits
- Salary range: $61,000 - $100,000 (range disclosed to comply with applicable pay transparency laws; exact pay depends on experience, skills, and location).
- Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus where applicable.
