Position overview
Confidential Client is hiring a Gen4 Airborne Radar Software Engineer II to join an embedded software team focused on tactical airborne radar systems. This is an onsite, full-time role based at the El Segundo, CA campus. The role centers on real-time embedded software development for radar modes and capabilities, SW/HW integration, and cross-discipline collaboration.
What You’ll Do
- Work on technical problems and provide innovative, practical solutions with minimal supervision.
- Contribute across the software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, integration, testing, and delivery.
- Develop real-time embedded software for airborne radar modes and capabilities.
- Perform investigation and troubleshooting to diagnose issues and deliver fixes.
- Integrate software with hardware and support SW/HW integration activities.
- Participate in program and customer meetings, design reviews, and technical decision-making.
- Support adherence to performance, cost, schedule, and quality targets.
- Support generation and analysis of system and software requirements and architecture.
Location & Clearance
- Work location: Onsite at the El Segundo, CA campus (El Segundo, California).
- Citizenship & clearance: U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an interim DoD Secret security clearance prior to start date. Ability to obtain Special Access Programs (SAP/SAR) and related access may be required for continued employment.
Qualifications — Required
- Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in embedded software development.
- Development experience coding in C, C++, Ada or similar languages across phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux, Windows, VxWorks, Green Hills, or other real-time operating systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
Qualifications — Preferred
- Current DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.
- Proven ability to obtain Special Access Clearances (SAP).
- Experience developing radar software applications or working on large, complex airborne systems.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and using common agile tool suites.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for system and tool performance issues.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range (good-faith estimate): $75,800 - $144,200 USD per year. This range is provided per applicable pay-transparency guidance and represents the range for candidates who may be hired for this role in California.
