Overview

This is a rewritten posting for a Graduate Engineer Accelerated Rotational Program (GEAR) opportunity located in Raritan, NJ on behalf of a confidential client in the MedTech (medical device) industry. The GEAR program is a two‑year, entry-level rotational program focused on building technical depth and operational experience across manufacturing and engineering functions.


What You’ll Do

  • Participate in a structured, two‑year rotational program (GEAR) supporting the Global Technical Operations (GTO) team.
  • Complete technical curriculums that may include:
    • Process & Assembly Automation
    • Packaging Automation
    • Component Development
    • Chemical, Fiber, and Wire Processing
  • Spend a guaranteed minimum of 8 months (up to 16 months) at an Ethicon manufacturing site during the program.
  • Support process design, development, and implementation at assigned sites.
  • Provide manufacturing operations support and drive operations improvements.
  • Support site improvement initiatives (e.g., installation of new manufacturing technology).
  • Assist lifecycle management for existing products in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
  • Apply continuous improvement and product/process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Design Excellence).
  • Demonstrate leadership, take project ownership, and contribute feedback to improve the program.

Program Components

  • Structured technical and leadership training combined with on‑the‑job experience.
  • Rotational assignments across multiple U.S. sites delivering measurable business impact.
  • Exposure to multiple product families and manufacturing processes (Endomechanical‑Energy, Wound Closure & Healing, Biosurgery).
  • Global networking and collaboration with peers and technical leaders.
  • Hands‑on experience in process development, manufacturing operations, quality/regulatory support, and project management.

Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications / Requirements)

  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without future sponsorship (no H‑1B or green card sponsorship).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an engineering‑related field conferred between July 2026 and June 2027.
  • Minimum of 3 months of relevant work experience (co‑op, internship, or post‑graduate employment accepted).
  • Geographic flexibility for rotations and final placement across program sites.
  • Eligible to begin full‑time employment by the assigned program start date in June 2027.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passion for a technical career track in MedTech/manufacturing engineering.
  • Demonstrated leadership and effective communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab) or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (including MS Project) and comfort with data‑driven problem solving.

Location & Work Type

  • Primary authoritative location for this posting: Raritan, NJ, US.
  • This role is onsite/onsite‑focused with rotational assignments across U.S. manufacturing sites. Specific cities may be used as examples; applicants should expect possible relocation or travel between program sites as required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Anticipated base pay: $87,800 per year.
  • Position may be eligible for annual performance bonus, sign‑on or early incentive bonuses (per plan rules).
