Position overview

This entry-level Gas Distribution Engineer I role supports planning, design, and execution of natural gas infrastructure and pipeline projects for a confidential client in the Energy, Oil & Gas industry. This is a hybrid, full-time position based in Cranberry Township, PA. The engineering team works closely with project managers, operations, and external contractors to deliver safe, compliant projects on schedule and on budget.

What you’ll do

• Support planning, design, and execution of gas infrastructure projects (new and replacement pipelines).
• Produce engineering designs, drawings, and technical project documentation.
• Maintain and update project tracking reports and status updates.
• Maintain complex service spreadsheets and engineering calculations.
• Research and verify existing asset and system information for project scoping.
• Assist with cost estimating and scope definition activities.
• Prepare operating procedures, technical documentation, and Stage Gate deliverables.
• Participate in project team meetings, trainings, and coordination sessions.
• Provide engineering support during construction and field activities.
• Ensure projects meet applicable regulations, safety requirements, and company standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (civil, mechanical, petroleum, or related engineering discipline preferred).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or a comparable CAD platform.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); ability to work with spreadsheets and basic engineering calculations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Attention to detail, organization, and a safety-first mindset.
• Ability to support field activities and occasional site visits as required.

Location & schedule

• Worksite: Cranberry Township, PA (primary work location per authoritative job listing).
• Schedule: Hybrid — on-site work required Tuesday through Thursday at the Cranberry Township office; remote work available Mondays and Fridays (subject to team needs and local policy).
• This position may require occasional travel to project sites.

Compensation & benefits

• Base pay: $40.00/hour to $45.00/hour (range depends on experience, qualifications, and skills).
