Role Overview
Confidential Client is seeking Entry-Level Fund Accountants to join a growing fund administration team in Miami, FL. This is a hands-on accounting role where you’ll learn portfolio accounting, NAV preparation, financial statement production, and investor reporting while working with alternative investment funds.
What You’ll Do
You will support day-to-day fund administration and portfolio accounting tasks, including:
- Perform end-to-end portfolio fund accounting: process fund transactions, reconciliations, valuations, and corporate actions
- Prepare Net Asset Value (NAV) workpapers and supporting reports for investment managers and investors
- Produce investor and financial statements (statement of assets & liabilities, schedule of NAV per share, statement of operations, changes in shareholders’ equity, cash flows)
- Reconcile custodial and broker statements and investigate variances
- Ensure accurate accounting for investments including equities, fixed income, derivatives, private placements and private equity investments
- Support audit requests and liaise with auditors as needed
- Contribute to fund start-up and periodic regulatory/tax reporting tasks
Qualifications
What you must bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Understanding of investments, securities, and financial markets
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadlines
Nice to Have
Experience or skills that will make you stand out:
- Prior work at a fund administrator, hedge/private equity fund operations, or audit experience serving alternative funds
- Working knowledge of Bloomberg and Paxus
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Ability to work periodic overtime during month/quarter closes
