What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level Functional Tester role supporting Pega-based applications in an Agile environment. You'll work with product owners, developers, and senior QA to ensure features meet requirements and quality standards.

• Support the design and execution of functional test cases for Pega applications following established test workflows.
• Validate system functionality against requirements and user stories; document actual vs expected behavior.
• Log, triage, and track defects; follow up with engineering teams on resolutions.
• Contribute to test planning by helping define scope and estimating testing effort.
• Maintain and update test artifacts: regression test cases, test results, and checklists.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives) and testing throughout sprints.
• Review test results and raise risks or issues to senior QA team members.
• Collaborate across teams to promote quality across the software development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 0–1 years professional experience (entry-level / junior).
• Exposure to or foundational understanding of Pega functional testing concepts or tools (coursework, training, or internship experience acceptable).
• Basic QA knowledge: test case creation, defect reporting, and regression testing.
• Ability to read and interpret user stories/requirements and convert them into clear test steps.
• Familiarity with Agile (Scrum or Kanban) from coursework, internships, or prior roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with test management or defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
• Must be eligible for and able to obtain/hold a Top Secret (TS) security clearance — TS is required to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level Pega certification(s) such as CSA or CSSA.
• Exposure to automated testing tools for Pega (e.g., PegaUnit) or Selenium for Pega UI.
• Interest in or basic exposure to test automation and CI/CD concepts.
• Familiarity with Agile testing methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, hybrid approaches).

Compensation & Location

• Estimated base: $91,855 per year (estimated).
• Location: Crystal, VA (on-site / government-site expectations — clearance required).
• Employment Type: Full-time.
• Experience level: Entry / Junior (0–1 years).
• Note: Employment and continued employment may be contingent on background checks and maintaining required security clearance.
