Position Overview
Confidential Client (via Careertakes) is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join a team building user-facing applications and tools that improve operator efficiency, automate workflows, and support system accreditation and security compliance. You will work across the full software lifecycle — from design and prototyping through deployment — using modern front-end frameworks, Python/Django back ends, and cloud-native tooling.
Responsibilities
- Develop web applications and user interfaces that enable operators and improve productivity.
- Identify automation opportunities and design solutions that streamline operational processes and data management.
- Participate across the full software development lifecycle: architecture, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Design and implement clean, maintainable front-end code using modern frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Build back-end services and RESTful APIs using Python (Django) or other back-end languages (Java, C#).
- Design and work with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) to model and manage data.
- Implement core architectural patterns (MVC, RESTful APIs, creational/behavioral patterns) to ensure scalable, maintainable systems.
- Collaborate with Data Analysts, Scientists, and Engineers to deliver usable interfaces and product improvements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and Body of Evidence (BOE) artifacts to support system accreditation and security compliance.
- Work with customers and stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solution usability and acceptance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Professional experience with back-end languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
- Hands-on experience with Python and web frameworks (Django preferred).
- Experience designing and interacting with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
- Proficiency with Git and version control workflows.
- Familiarity with software design patterns (MVC, Singleton, Factory, Observer) and RESTful API design.
- Experience producing and maintaining technical documentation for security and accreditation purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- CISSP or other relevant security certification.
- Experience with cyber risk and compliance automation tools.
- Experience deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience using Generative AI APIs.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Clearance Requirements
- An active Secret clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.
- Frequent communication with co-workers, management, and customers; ability to exchange accurate information professionally.
