What You’ll Do

• Develop and deploy secure authentication and authorization systems (OAuth, SAML) for web applications.
• Build and maintain rich administrative user interfaces and workflows using React.
• Design and implement backend services and APIs using Ruby on Rails.
• Model and optimize relational schemas and queries in PostgreSQL.
• Diagnose and address scaling and performance issues to ensure high uptime and responsive UX.
• Partner with product, UX, and security teams to deliver secure, user-friendly solutions that simplify IT infrastructure management.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong experience building rich web UIs with React or similar frameworks.
• Proficiency with back-end web development using Ruby on Rails.
• Experience designing efficient relational database schemas and writing performant SQL (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Familiarity with authentication and authorization standards (OAuth, SAML).
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, debugging tools, and version control (Git).
• Ability to troubleshoot scale and reliability issues in production systems.

Preferred / Industry Experience

• Experience in the networking, security, or IT infrastructure space is a plus.
• Prior work simplifying administrative workflows or tooling for IT/security products is valued.
• Familiarity with enterprise authentication flows and identity providers is beneficial.

Contract Details & Compensation

• Employment type: W2 contractor.
• Duration: 12-month contract with possible extension.
• Location: San Jose, CA (telecommute / remote-eligible).
• Pay range: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
